Helping to keep you safe during severe weather

At Amazon Flex, your safety is our priority. We understand that delivering in severe weather conditions requires extra care, which is why we have implemented several measures to help keep you safe on the road. Here are some ways we support you in the case of severe weather.

‍Weather monitoring We will send you weather updates through the Amazon Flex app to let you know if severe weather is expected to impact your delivery block. These updates include information about route and station closures, and recommendations based on the specific conditions in your area, such as reducing speed during rainy conditions, taking breaks to warm up in cold conditions, or staying hydrated during hot weather. ‍

Adjusting your delivery route When severe weather is forecast for your area, we may adjust your route to allow more time to complete deliveries within the scheduled block. We will let you know in advance when we adjust your block, and you will still be paid the full amount for your block. Once weather conditions improve, blocks return to normal.

‍Gear to help you stay safe on the road in severe weather Amazon Flex offers you a variety of free safety gear, including high-visibility, reflective safety vests, headlamps, and vehicle magnets so you stay visible to other vehicles, customers, and community members while at the delivery station and on the road. If you are interested in any of this gear, ask an Amazon associate at the station for assistance.

Always use your best judgement as weather conditions on the ground can change quickly. If you ever feel unsafe while delivering due to severe weather conditions, contact the Driver Support team through the Amazon Flex app for assistance. If you have a medical emergency, call 000. Then, only when it is safe to do so, use the Emergency Help button in the Amazon Flex app to contact Driver Support and report the incident.
