Safe driving in winter weather

‍ When driving in rainy, or icy conditions, it is important to take additional precautions to keep you safe on the road. While driving, reduce your speed to ensure your tyres keep their grip on the road. We also recommend maintaining extra distance between your vehicle and others, so you have more time to react. When visibility is low due to fog, it is best to pull over to review the delivery addresses for your upcoming stops.

Service your vehicle

‍ Remember to keep your vehicle well-maintained, especially during the winter when you’re using heating systems. Take time to warm up your vehicle and maintain proper fuel or electric vehicle battery levels to ensure it’s ready and functioning properly. Regularly check tyre treads, fluid levels, and lights to stay prepared for shorter and colder days.

‍Staying warm

As the temperature drops, wear warm, protective layers such as hats, coats, and gloves. You must wear a high-visibility safety vest as your outermost layer and closed shoes. Safety vests are available to you at the delivery station at no cost. These vests include reflective technology, so you stay visible to vehicles and customers. For closed shoes, we recommend slip-resistant footwear which can provide additional traction and grip on frosty surfaces. In colder weather, remember to monitor for temperature-related numbness, tingling, or stinging in your fingers or toes.
