The Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code

What are my rights to seek representation or support?

Under the Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code, there are specific rights to seek support or representation at certain times. First, if you receive a ‘deactivation warning’ as defined in the Code, you may seek assistance or support from a person (other than a lawyer acting in a professional capacity), who may be a delegate or an employee of an organisation, in relation to that warning. Second, if you receive a ‘preliminary deactivation notice’ as defined in the Code, you may appoint a person to provide you with support or representation in accordance with the requirements of the Code. It is your choice whether you want to take this step or not.

The Code explains that a person (other than a lawyer acting in a professional capacity) can be appointed to provide support or representation in relation to any ‘deactivation’.

Can I get other assistance from my support person or representation?

It is up to you to discuss with your support person or representation what assistance they will provide to you - Amazon cannot advise you. If you want your support person or representative to assist you with review of any information you receive from Amazon, or help you to prepare a response to Amazon, that is a matter for you to arrange directly with your support person or representative. However, any time you submit information to Amazon, Amazon expects that you will make sure everything you say to us is truthful and properly represents your viewpoint.
